Hello friends,
In this post, I’ll be talking about the THREE MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE in my life even though I have more than three I would have loved to share but I’m limited to talk about just 3 in this post. Enjoy as you read about them!
MY FATHER
It is not a new thing anymore as it is certainly the most common amongst male children to identify their father as the major influential person in their lives even before knowing what a role model is. Apparently, there is no one that can take up the role of a father in a man’s life.
When I was much younger, my Dad would make me go everywhere with him and I just had to get use to this. He is a very hardworking man and always remain focused on achieving his goals. This attributes of him he has imbibed in us as well to avoid being carried away by distractions. Till this day, I’m always focused and can do away with distractions for as long as I want. This has really helped me in life because it creates a mindset of knowing that nothing is non-achievable as long as you set your mind towards it. My father would always preach working hard and not relying on anyone other than yourself. This has really helped me this far and will continue to appreciate him for that.
My father is never the one to neglect his child even when you think you are failing or not doing well. He is that kind of father that will keep encouraging you when nobody does and this can be uplifting. His continuous encouragement is to tell you that giving up is not an option and that you are close to achieving your goal with just a little more effort and doing away with distractions.
MY TEACHER
My teacher “Ms. Alice” way back when I was in kindergarten is one woman I will never forget as she triggered the love for Arts in me. I would have probably count myself as one of those without talents if I had not discovered this. She would make us do a lot of paintings and drawings and I always loved it as I could have fun doing this all the time. While I was younger, I use to think arts is basically just about drawing and painting. Growing to become wiser I realized it’s more than just those, Arts exists in everything around us.
Over the past years, i always feel a special connection with a piece of Artwork that interprets emotions such as love, happiness, sadness, loneliness….etc. Only Artists and Art lovers would really understand this deep meanings an Art depicts while others might just see it as an ordinary piece not knowing it might be a reflection of their lives.

I’m glad Ms. Alice was able to trigger my love for arts as it has really been a source of inspiration, joy and motivation. One of the ways i get out being depressed or sad about anything is to getting myself to draw or paint or any form of artwork I feel will best express my feelings at the time. This is one of my drawings of a couple of years ago. I remember feeling lonely and bored on this day and brought out my pencil and crayon and it resulted to this. I will continue to remember Ms Alice for the great influence she’s had in life.
MR DANGOTE
According to 2018 Forbes list, Mr Aliko Dangote has been identified as the richest black man in the world. His story is really motivational and inspirational to me which made me look up to him as one of my role models. He started from little beginnings and now the richest black man in the world with net worth of $18.6 billion. He has always been interested in business from the time he was in Elementary school during which he started by buying and selling candies. To me there is a very important lesson to learn here, your starting point should not discourage you, it should motivate you and be consistent. This leads to the rules of success according to Aliko Dangote and I think it is important to share this with you.

The first thing he mentioned in one of his interviews a few years ago was to be a good listener and always practice teamwork. I have always noticed that listening more and will always allow you time to process the information in order to have the best idea or solution to a problem. He also mentioned Consistency as a way to achieve growth. In this journey called life, there will always be challenges and therefore the ability to remain true and consistent to your practice will make you overcome this challenges resulting into a successful business.
Another attributes Dangote believes is key to success is to be focused. His success definitely did not happen overnight. This happened after several years of staying focused and committed to what he believed in. In his exact words he said something I will never forget, “You should not take your job or business as something that you must do, you must take it as it is part of your hobby, if it is part of your hobby then you do it better”. I am still a work in progress but I try my best to enjoy whatever I find myself doing.
I have learnt from my Dad and Mr Aliko Dangote that by staying focused, you are closer to achieving your dreams sooner than you think. Thanks for reading guys!
this is my first on the list as I find this meal to be very balanced as it contains both vegetables, proteins and definitely carbohydrates. It can be garnished with different ingredients like shrimps, chicken liver or kidney, sausage, green beans, etc….Usually a must have at most Nigerian parties as it is very tasty and easy to eat at an event without making a mess of yourself or take home. It is quite easy to make for people who have little time to cook and very nutritious as well. On a typical day, you want to have fried rice with some fried or grilled chicken or fish depending on individual’s preference.
This is another amazing meal you will love to try if you haven’t yet. Although can only be found in Nigeria or a Nigerian restaurant outside Nigeria as the rice specie is being grown locally and it has it’s unique taste and aroma which makes it different from other species of rice. The Ofada sauce is made in a special way to compliment the rice which makes the combination astounding.
This is a vegetable soup made with spinach and blended melon. it has a combination of other ingredients like palm oil, fish, beef, crayfish etc… It is usually taken with pounded yam, or cassava flakes popularly known as “garri”.
This is also another soup I love so much. This is not a meal on it’s own , you will require some solid meals like pounded yam, cassava flakes or other solid food of your choice to go with this. It is made up of sliced okra, shrimps, fish, crab, some pepper and some other seasonings and condiments to enhance the aroma of the soup and makes it taste yummy. If you haven’t tried this soup yet, i encourage you to do so now.
This is one of my favorite protein based meals. It is very rich in nutrients and also a purely organic meal. Not so easy to make but I can trust you to be able to cook this to a perfection once you follow the steps in the video link I’ve attached to this post. Usually people with heartburn or ulcer avoid this meal due to hotness of the sauce. Aside from that, it is a very delicious and nutrient dense meal. It can be eaten as a meal on it’s own or have it with some slices of bread.
This is a very easy delicacy and can be served as either breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is made up of yam, peppers, tomatoes, palm oil , crayfish and a varieties of ingredients depending on how much nutrients you want in your porridge. This is also a high calorie food therefore should be taken in moderation if you are trying to watch your calorie intake.
This is one of the simplest meals on the list and can be served with some tomato sauce or stew. A mixture of rice and beans or can be cooked separately. You can have this meal anytime of the day but its popular as lunch or dinner. Simple but tasty!
